He claims that a commission has been established by the state Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Bakori, to investigate the incident between followers of Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, and Alhaji Muhammadu Sañusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano.
Haruna stated, "Four suspects have been apprehended in connection with the Sunday clash," without providing any other information regarding the arrest.
A violent altercation between followers of Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, and Alhaji Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar III, the 16th Emir, was reportedly prevented on Sunday in the Kofar-Kudu neighborhood of Kano city, according to a previous report by The PUNCH.
The incident occurred when some individuals, believed to be supporters of Emir Sañusi'sSanusi, blocked the road, preventing Emir Bayero from passing through Kofar-Kudu on his way back to Nassarawa Mini Palace after visiting the family of the late business magnate, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, to offer condolences.
Following the incident, the main gate of the palace was destroyed, some police vehicles belonging to the royal guards were smashed, and some palace guards were reportedly hurt.
An eyewitness claims that the police's prompt action stopped the altercation from turning into a full-fledged, violent altercation.
